I guess google wants to have this more secure. This generated password will be used in your hikvision nvr or camera menu where you usually did put your emial password. So you log in your hikvision camera nvr then you go network advanced settings and then email. This generated a long password which then can be used to enter inside hikvision menu. In here I went down to other custom name and typed in hikvision and clicked generate. I clicked on it and then under "Select the app and device you want to generate the app password for" I selected select app. Under "Signing in to Google" I enabled the 2-step verification by adding my phone number. First I went to Manage your google account from there I went to Security on left side.
